Education Program
Sailing Fundamentals- A one day program to teach sailing fundamentals to those new to sailing or those who needed a refresher.  The core topics covered include: sail theory, trimming sails, tacking & gybing, basic knots and crew responsibilites and safety. One or two additonal topics may be included.
The class is scheduled before the Spring (or Fall) Skills weekend so those attending the Sailing Fundamentals class will shortly thereafter have the opportunity to get on-boat, on-the-water experience in the techniques taught in the class.

Monthly Meeting Programs- Throughout 2011, during some of its monthly meetings, PSC will provide short programs on specific sailing topics such as docking, navigation, knots, first aid, on-board etiquette, weather and others. If you have an interest in a particular topic, let us know so we may consider it for our sailing education program.
Special Programs- Based on members' interests PSC has made arrangement for courses employing outside experts in areas such as diesel engine maintenance and troubleshhoting and First Aid/CPR.  These are courses that even the advanced sailors will find worhtwhile and participation is sometimes limited to those who have more than basic skills and experience.
