The Philadelphia Sailing Club is a non-profit organization founded by sailors in 1979 with a mission to promote sailing activities for those who don’t own a boat. Our members, age 21 and over, are from a wide variety of backgrounds and professions. We are dedicated to sharing the joy of sailing and sailing skills with everyone―from curious beginners to seasoned sailors.
We have general meetings with maritime speakers and presentations almost every month at the beautiful Radnor Valley Country Club.
We also have frequent happy hour gatherings and various other hard aground social activities. Non-members are welcome to attend.
We charter sailboats ranging in size from 34 to 51 feet. Our weekend trips are most often from Rock Hall, Maryland, just 2 hours south of Philadelphia. We recently sailed in Lake Michigan, the Pacific Northwest, Maine, the New England coast, the British Virgin Islands and the Leeward Islands. Not long ago we went to the Mediterranean, the Outer Banks of North Carolina, the Florida Keys, Tahiti, and Australia. The club arranges for the boats and new members just need to show up at the marina and sail with us. We'll be happy to show you how to pitch in and help sail the boat.
Join us at a meeting or join and sign up for a trip! We look forward to meeting you!
